chasethewind > Peaking around the Shrubs (9-3-2008)

This picture was taken this past weekend at The Crossing Park in Colonie, NY. Earlier Saturday morning, Joe and I were scouting out places to shoot photos for the wedding (we would be shooting later that day), and we happened upon this cool maze. We had all sorts of great, creative ideas for photos of the bride and groom looking for each other... Unfortunately, there was no time for artistic photos when we came to do photos at the park. On Sunday, Joe, Sara, Amanda and I went back to the park to try some of the photos out. Without the step ladder and the tripod, it got to be near impossible. I'll definitely try these shots out again. Ok, folks, keep shooting.
chasethewind > Barbecue's Last Stand (8-30-2008)

Well, this weekend marks the end of the tourist's summer calendar. I realize that there are technically still three weeks or so, but many people would consider summer over. It's sad. Fewer outdoor get-togethers; people get this mental block when summer is over that their friends want to stop hanging out or something.... Anyway, this is my salute to the summer barbecues and a candid portrait of my friend, Chris. Check out his blog sometime. (http://punchaholerightthroughthenight.blogspot.com/) He's a good kid. Alright, folks, keep shooting and don't discriminate during the next three weeks, enjoy them, too.
chasethewind > Hoop Candid (8-27-2008)

This is a small glimpse at the photos I've been taking for my chruch's bulletin. Tony and Bonnie were a great pair to photograph. They have lots of energy and personality. This was from a fun moment trying to figure out what to do with this Hula Hoop. That would be fun to do a "Whose Line is it Anyway?"-esque photo session with competing couples/teams doing the game where you have to come up with things to do with props. Let me know what you think about this one. Taken with my D80. Keep shooting, all you photogs!
chasethewind > Winds of change... (9-9-2008)

If you can't tell what this is....It's a tree whose leaves are whipping around in the wind. I didn't know what to make of this picture at first, but if you think about it....We're like those trees, trying to stand firm in our beliefs/faith/standards. Do your beliefs/standards/faith stand up against the changing winds of culture? Popular politics? Peer pressure? Or do you crumble under the scrutiny of others? What are your roots grounded in? Whether you believe in God or you don't; you've already established justifications for your actions...A place to put your faith into. The question is: will those beliefs stand the test of time and the temptations to uproot & plant into shallow soil? I took this picture with my D80 after going to Albany's First Friday this past Friday.
chasethewind > And they're off (9-11-2008)

Taken a couple weeks ago, these are my friends (Joe and Sara) pushing through the maze at "The Crossings" park in Colonie. It was where Joe and I wanted to do some cool creative shots for the wedding we were shooting, but there wasn't enough time. Anyway... I think this is how I am going to feel Friday at 5pm. Can't wait for the weekend... Alright, Keep shooting. Because remember, practice makes better (not perfect).
chasethewind > Clean Lines (8-25-2008)

After a hike, all the worries in life seem like they could just float away... I wanted to show this photo as a representation of how I would like to live... simply. The photo makes me think of clean lines, patterns, and the sound of the cool mountain water... In the words of the Weepies, "I want to live a simple life..." There are too many things that we cloud our lives with. Is it any wonder why we always feel like life goes by faster and faster? You don't give yourself time to breathe. Take some cleansing breaths. Keep shooting. Taken with my D80.
chasethewind > San Antonio Suave (9-30-2008)

Taken in the velvety, creamy early evening sky, Amanda posed for my rapid-firing camera. We were on a REAL vacation down in San Antonio to visit her dad this past week. It was relaxing, exciting, and fun. We went to Sea World, Rudy's Barbecue, the Riverwalk, the Alamo, Fredricksburg and 'The Silo' to name only part of our adventure. (And I almost bought a cool hat...) Anyway, I'm thankful that we could have a restful and scenic trip where there wasn't a wedding to go to or a christmas party we had to be at. I'm sure in the upcoming days, you'll see more from this trip! Remember to keep those (rapid-firing) cameras shooting! Back to the grindstone!

chasethewind > Happily they walk away... (9-16-2008)

E Plurbus Unum. Of many, one. This is just another sample of the pictures that are backlogged behind L-I-F-E. Yeah, life can be bothersome, always slowing down what we may want and what others want from us. Well, as for today, I can only do what I can do. Remember to keep things simple and in front of you. Keep Shooting, everyone. ALSO, Amanda, you're going to great on your exam today!!! Love you!
